Women’s Mountain Bike Trip
Come join us in Crested Butte, CO for 3 days of riding world class single track on a women’s only trip, led by Karin Pocock. We will spend 3 days learning and refining mountain bike skills, riding through breathtaking alpine scenery, and enjoying growing together as a group.
Crested Butte sits at 9,000 ft elevation in the heart of the Elk Mountains, the wildflower capital of Colorado. Explore trails that wind though forests, alpine meadows, pristine lakes & streams. We’ll guide you on amazing single-track trails and offer instruction and techniques along the way.
Our mountain biking trip is led by Backcountry Babes instructor Karin Pocock, an experienced mountain bike instructor and ski guide. Karin lives near CB and is thrilled to share her local knowledge with the Babes. We offer a low guide to client ration of 1:6 to optimize the small group experience. Karin chooses trails each day to give you the best experience to suit your riding ability. Her coaching and instruction out on the trails will bring your riding to the next level.
Lodging is included as part of the experience to foster a sense of community in the group and make this an opportunity to meet other like-minded women and future riding partners.
Crested Butte boasts a lively main street of eateries, breweries, and live music venues in a small town atmosphere, all within walking distance of our accommodation. Spend our day riding the mountains and you can opt to spend your evenings relaxing, enjoying a massage, yoga class or out exploring the town.
Included: Professional BICP certified guides, mentorship and instruction in basic bike mechanics (if desired), any shuttles required, local accommodations, and lunches on the trail.
Not Included: Bike rental (Babes can help arrange this through a local outfitter), Breakfasts and Dinners, additional services like Yoga or Massage (Babes can help arrange or book these at your request).
Duration: 4 Days
Activity Level: Moderate to High
Required Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate Mountain Bike rider. Must have some previous mountain bike experience. Must be able to exercise at 7000-11,000ft. “Our trip to Japan was phenomenal! As the location becomes more exotic, it becomes more important to have a guide who knows the area and knows where to find the goodness; Check. Combined with fantastic organization and a small group, we spent all of our time in the enjoyment zone. Kudos to Emily for getting all the elements just right, and creating a lifetime memory.”Casey S.Sante Fe, NM
“I can’t even describe the emotions I feel thinking back to the two backcounty ski hut trips I’ve done in Canada with Backcountry Babes. It’s a lot of “Oh my god that was fun!”, but it was also such a confidence builder. I feel like I can hang, I’m a badass, and now I know all these incredible women that I can use as role models.”Amy H,Canada Hut Trip
“This trip was one of the most rewarding outdoor experiences I’ve ever had. Great women, fantastic guides, way too much food, and AMAZING skiing! As soon as I got home I was already signed up for next year’s trip.”Lauren S.Canada Hut Trip
