Feeling a little off-balance and out of sorts on your bike? Got the early season blues? Me too! To get me back up to speed, I have been playing around with various ways to improve my bike skills both on and off the dirt.
#1 Early Season Tip to increase your comfort level riding narrow single track with obstacles.
- Challenge: Riding confidently on single track (not riding like a drunken sailer)
- Tip: Find an empty parking lot or quite street with paved lines. Practice following the lines. Experiment with riding on the lines and riding right next to the lines. Look where you want to go, not where you don’t want to go. Your dristie- your gaze, should be a couple of feet in front of you. In a parking lot, play around with picking up your front wheel when you approach the white lines. Have fun and be playful as if you were a spring chicken playing in the yard.
- Desired Result: A big smile on your face as you calmly navigate with easy through challenging terrain without wiping out.
