Have Passport, Will Ski:Backcountry Adventures in Kyrgyzstan at Neptune Mountaineering.
Kyrgyzstan. Svalbard. Georgia. Kamchatka. These are the names of far flung places, cloaked in mystery and an impenetrable winter, quickly glimpsed in ski movies and seemingly inaccessible to mere mortals … Until now.
If you’ve ever wanted to go on an international backcountry ski and split boarding trip, or if you’ve ever wondered what the cross-pollination of ski touring with Kyrgyz yurts looks like, or if you’ve ever been curious about how to plan a winter trip for you and your friends that features no shortage of superlatives—deepest powder, vastest terrain, most legit accommodations (yurt)—then we’ve got the event for you.
Join us and 40 Tribes’ Founder, Ryan Koupal, local photographer Dottie Bond, and Mike Lewis of Zeal Optics for a presentation featuring photos from their recent backcountry trip to Kyrgyzstan followed by a Q&A session. They’ll regale you with stories from the Kyrgyz powder paradise known as Jalpak Tash, provide the 101 on how 40 Tribes can make that epic, one-of-a-kind backcountry adventure a reality, and stoke the fires of winter.
Going to be an awesome night full of winter stoke – we’ll have beer and wine in the cafe and a huge raffle going on with support from Zeal Optics and our backcountry partners for the evening! Proceeds will benefit CAIC. See you here!
