Hosted by Wilderness Sports and Friends of the Dillon Ranger District
Bethany Hughes moved to Summit County in 2011, soon after completing her first thru-hike, the Pacific Crest Trail. While living here she continued to hike, completing the Colorado Trail, and branched out into snow sports, even learning to snowboard, much to the amusement of her SOS Outreach kids. She worked at the FIRC, Summit School District, Vail Resorts, Columbia at the outlet malls, and whatever other gigs she could pick up to save money as she planned a hike across the Americas.
8,000 miles, 3 years, and one continent later she is home for a rest! During her time in Summit she is looking forward to updating the community who helped her make it this far. The talk will focus on an update of Her Odyssey’s progress and conservation issues, comparing Patagonia and the Inca Trail.
