February 16, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Help us kick Mountain Festival with the critically-acclaimed Mountainfilm Festival on Saturday, February 16th 7pm at Squaw Valley’s Olympic Village Lodge. This special evening is made possible by our friends at Flylow Gear.
Mountainfilm’s mission is to use the power of film, art, and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. Come on out and enjoy this moving, picture-packed evening, presented by Flylow Gear.
Mountainfilm is a documentary film festival that showcases nonfiction stories about environmental, cultural, climbing, political and social justice issues that matter. Mountainfilm travels throughout the world with a selection of current and best-loved adventure films from their annual flagship festival in Telluride, Colorado. Through Mountainfilm on Tour, the organization touches the lives of over 50,000 people every year and visits more than 100 locations on six continents. It’s their way of extending the reach of the annual festival and helping filmmakers’ inspiring content be seen by audiences across the globe.
“Telluride Mountainfilm is the single most inspiring event that I attend each year. It is a chance to rub elbows with modern-day heroes, with people who are actually making a difference. A chance to see films that would be lost. A chance to find out what’s really happening in the world and to meet people who are living their dreams.” —Ace Kvale, adventure photographer
Doors open at 6:15pm, show begins at 7pm. $10 tickets go on sale (www.alpenglowsports.com) in early January. Night of tickets are available but increase in price ($13). A generous raffle will benefit the Tahoe Backcountry Alliance.
