Protecting the Arctic Refuge

The shop brings back frequent guest, Brennan Lagasse, to talk about his continued efforts to protect and preserve the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska. This past winter Lagasse returned to the Refuge and went deeper than he ever had before, working with a film crew to film a 3D IMAX movie, as well as seeing polar bears up close for the first time. Join Brennan to learn how you can get involved in conservation efforts for the Arctic Refuge. While it remains as threatened as ever, the protection movement has grown in massive ways. 2019 saw more people and groups supporting protection for the Refuge.

Alpenglow Sports is excited to launch the Fall 2019 Tailgate Talks for the greater Lake Tahoe region. The Tailgate Talk line up is one of the biggest to date with a total of six shows in 2019 from October through December. All shows are free with beverage offerings from Sufferfest and Sierra Nevada. 100% of all beverage sales will benefit local non-profit Gateway Mountain Center.

The Tailgate Talks have become a cherished tradition at Alpenglow Sports over the past 11 years, with the intention to bring the greater North Lake Tahoe community together to learn about and celebrate the various aspects of the mountains that we all love, at no cost. Bringing in a series of speakers and athletes passionate about their respective sports, the environment, and the greater community, the Tailgate Talks are the ultimate way to come together and connect with our neighbors.
